THE UPPER WEST
Hidden across the street from trader joe’s and just west of the 10 freeway when Pico crosses under it, is this fantastic new bar. Their burger is phenomenal, and the huge windows provide for awesome day-drinking and romantic night-drinking. Key word here… drinking. The owners are like us, very mixology driven. So their cocktail menu is fantastic, using only the freshest natural ingredients. It’s a big bar with a great patio and definitely a spot to check out.
THE 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP
If we asked you what was the biggest sports event in the world, odds are you would say the Super Bowl. Some poorly educated folks would say the Daytona 500, while few worldly spectators would say the Olympics. Well, you people are dead wrong. To put things in perspective, the most recent Super Bowl had 105 million viewers worldwide, while the 2006 World Cup Final had 750…million…viewers. Gosh damn.
This is serious people. Serious enough that you can’t just turn on the television hungover on Sunday in your underwear while you sip your roommate’s milk from the carton. It’s time to get involved and join those other 749,999,999 people in watching The Beautiful Game’s biggest game, which happens once every 4 years. Just don’t pee your pants if it goes to penalty kicks.
