About the Drink

VUQO VODKA

The Philippines have given the world some pretty special things. Manny Pacquaio is the world's most beloved boxing champion. Bruno Mars taught us that love knows no bounds (i.e. jumping on a grenade for her). And now, VUQO vodka. Most vodka is distilled from a grain like wheat or potatoes. The ancient tradition in the Phillipines is to distill this clear spirit from Coconut nectar. The method dates back four centuries and is the same method that the Philippino seafarers taught the Mexicans when they traveled East. The Mexicans used the same methods to make their national spirit, Tequila.

HER Energy Drink

When these guys first approached us, we were extremely hesitant. "Here we go, another energy drink," we thought. But when we sat down with them and sampled the product, we were blown away. This is the first energy drink we have tried that actually tastes great! It is not the cough medicine commonly known as Red Bull, or the sugar-shit known as Monster. HER is a pink-lemonade flavored, amazingly refreshing drink that you can easily drink on some ice.... but why would we ever do that? We're DrinksLA damn it! So we're gonna make some fantastic cocktails with it and drink HER the way she was meant to be consumed... with alcohol (at least in our minds). Also cool about HER is their presence in the community and their commitment to giving back.

The Grafton HotelAbout the Bar

When you drive up La Cienega towards the famed La Cienega Blvd, you climb one of the most San Fran-esque hills in LA. It's really more of a speed bumb, but for flat LA, it's huge! We digress. Once you turn right on Sunset though, it takes the typical LA driver a few seconds to readjust to the concept of a flat road, and in those few seconds, you have missed a gem on the Sunset Strip: The Grafton Hotel.

The Olive Kitchen + Bar flanks the East End of this swanky modern hotel and the Cutting Room lounge flanks the West End. Both spots are equally fantastic places to grab a cocktail or a bite to eat. You can even walk between the two and sit on a balcony that overlooks one of the cooler pools in Los Angeles, a pool that provides one of the best views of Los Angeles. They use only the freshest ingredients in the food at both spots and the results are evident. Come discover this Sunset gem.
