Bowmore Scotch Cafe Roma Directions to the Bar
Bowmore ScotchAbout the Drink

We are very excited to be working with Bowmore Scotch, a wonderful single malt out of the Isla (pronounced eye-la) region in Scotland. While many of the alcohol companies with which we work will have come to fruition in the last 5 to 10 years, when we work with a Scotch, we are dealing with a whole different ball-game. Bowmore has been around since 1779. That's 231 years! It's crazy to think that a region with a population of only 3000 people can have such a wide impact on the world, and how it enjoys alcohol (responsibly of course). Come explore a range of Bowmore Scotches. Ray Pearson, a Scotch aficionado and Bowmore ambassador, will be on hand to discuss Scotch and specifically Bowmore. He will sample the 12-year, 15-year, and 18-year old Scotch.

Cafe RomaAbout the Bar

Cafe Roma is a hidden gem in Beverly Hills, especially in the summer time. Nestled in a shopping plaza on Cannon Dr., this authentic Italian restaurant has been a Beverly Hills staple for years. We love this place because of the unique layout architecturally. The Bar and the dining areas feel wide-open and spacious because the floor to ceiling windows slide open and the tables and couches seamlessly bleed over into the outdoor areas of the establishment and let you breathe the fresh air. You can also grab a drink at one of the tables that spills out into the plaza allowing you to look up at the night sky. Cafe Roma is a great spot to grab a drink and feel like you're in Italy. The staff are all Italian, so if you know their mother tongue, Va Bene! Venite Bere con noi!

Let us help you remember

Just because a brand is boutique, it doesn't mean it's new. On Wednesday night, the 180-year old Bowmore scotch came into Beverly Hills and introduced itself to the DrinksLA crowd via global brand ambassador Ray Pearson.

The night began with an education session by Ray, discussing Scotch and how to enjoy it. With that knowledge secured, the crowd then sampled the 12, 15, & 18-year old bottles of Bowmore.

Also on hand was Michel from Neve Ice. Michel informed our fellow drinkers that we, as drinkers, take ice for granted. But in reality, we should demand great ice. Most ice at bars has a very small surface area. As a result, the ice melts faster, and your drink with ice very quickly turns into water, with a touch of your drink. But with Neve Ice, the beautifully carved block ice has a larger surface area, so instead of water, you actually get to taste your drink. Michel put Bowmore on regular ice and on block ice. The results were astounding. The Bowmore on Neve ice was infinitely better.

The education session was fantastic and the crowd then filtered into the indoor-outdoor bar that makes Cafe Roma such a great place to grab a drink. With three drinks on the cocktail menu, Drinkers were able to sample the Bowmore Legend mixed with some creative ingredients.

This was a great night filled with education and good ol' fashion Scotch drinking. Bowmore is a strong smokey Scotch, so people who enjoy full-bodied whiskies enjoyed the spirit straight up or on the rocks, & everyone else enjoyed Bowmore mixed into a special DrinksLA exclusive cocktail.
